Fundamentally, you need to come to terms with the fact that music is one of the greatest resurgents in this world that influences us daily as music follows us wherever we go, in our car, the mall, at home, at Church, at work, gym, jogging etc.
Available on devices such as our Cellphones, which I think most people use to listen to music, also on the computer, and so on. People are easily swayed or captivated by a certain sound or song that could either be good or bad. Some bands worship Satan very subliminally, and the message is very clear, and it ain’t Godly at all.
It is the art of the “muses” or “music” and a soulful and spiritual expression of inner thought and reasoning. Music is just so powerful. Not just on earth do we worship the Father in Spirit and Truth, but one day in Heaven, praise and worship shall be a great part of our passions.
We listen to music, we don’t hear music. What I mean by that is you may say, “Oh, I can hear music playing somewhere,” but we, in most cases, listen to music. Hearing is passive, and “listening is active”.
That is, in effect, why Satan despises Praise and Worship so much, seeing that He was once the anointed Cherub and his primary task was to lead praise and worship in Heaven. He was the covering Cherub of the Throne of God; he knows music all too well and how to captivate people with a certain sound.
We as Christians replaced Satan completely, you can shandai, shandai all you want, and you may even loose or bind, but if there is one virtue Satan hates then it is Praise and Worship, and he runs.
He swept one-third of Heaven to his side, thinking he could overthrow God, and rebel, for it is written:
“And I saw Satan fall like lightning from Heaven.”
It amazes me how artists start out so meek and mild, give them a few years, and they are sold out to Satan, covered in tattoos, the works. They start sweet and sound, give it some time, and they become so dark, given entirely over to Satan.
Music has the potential to sweep massive crowds in a group setting, such as a stadium, in an anthem to a sound produced. The most successful artists who have walked the face of the earth have created new sounds like Nirvana, Linkin Park, Queen, Korn, Coldplay, Shinedown, AC/DC, Placebo, Poets of a Fall, Avril Lavigne, and so many other bands that one can easily be swayed by.
The intent of these artist is everything other than drawing you closer to God. With effect the sound combined with certain selected lyrics create a sense of self own and not dependence on a Heavenly Creator, steering clearly away from God with a sense of rebellion which according to scripture is equal to witchcraft.
I find it very interesting that most of these artist’s carry crosses around their necks, what an absolute mockery to the True Divine which sketches a false identity of Good, blasphemous least to say.
Just to be clear, the Bible says: “cursed is he who hangs on a tree, ‘cross’. Jesus Christ became cursed for our sins. So when the empty cross is displayed on these artist, whether it be around their neck or a tattoo, it is a cursed symbol, nothing charming or good about it.
Jesus Christ is risen, completely separated from the cursed symbol, the cross. I for one will not dare wear a cross around my neck. I will not apologize to those who do wear crosses, no, no, it is a cursed symbolically charmed brace. If your cross brings you closer to the Faith, then good and this is acceptable for you.
One must be so so very careful what we listen to, I am not talking about mediocre music on the radio stations, although not all music on radio is sound. One would very seldom find radio stations playing explicit songs.
Let me give you one example of a band called LINKIN PARK, in their debut album METEORA, which is filled with such utter bitterness and cruel hatred against God. The one song is called “Don’t Stay”. With effect, this is not a love song at all; in this song, you basically tell God not to stay and to give your life back, and that you also don’t want him in your life.
Here is just the first part of the song’s lyrics:
Sometimes I need to remember just to breathe
Sometimes I need you to stay away from me (God)
Sometimes I’m in disbelief, I didn’t know
Somehow, I need you (God) to go
Don’t stay (God)

Forget our possibilities (God)

If you willingly open your life to these artists, you can get into serious trouble. Besides, the lead singer of LINKIN PARK committed suicide, as is the case with Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of the band NIRVANA, and I can tell you why: the very demons that they were operating through destroyed them completely. What am I suggesting? The Bible says: “Satan has only come to kill, steal and destroy.” There is not a single bit of goodness in Satan. He uses these artists and then, at the same time, destroys them completely through various means. Satan does not care one single bit about these artists; he simply uses them.
You know, people qualify and identify themselves according to the music they listen to, one may be into rock, alternative, pop, trans, new age, Christian, religious, and whatever other genre you might find.
People get into “very” serious bondage, swept away by a sound but more so the words of the music they “listen” to. Music is the part that your spirit is more influenced by. That is why so many people into ungodly music need demonic deliverance; more plainly put, they become demon-possessed.
Music is a spiritual and emotional expression. When the Lord Jesus was resting at the well of Jacob, here we find a Samaritan woman drawing water. To make a long story short, she implies that they worship God on the mountain, but the Jews worship in Jerusalem.
Jesus replied, There comes a time, woman, when they will neither worship God in this mountain nor Jerusalem, but they that worship the Father, MUST worship the Father in ‘SPIRIT’ and ‘TRUTH’.
Music is more spiritual than one may think or imagine.
Did you know that in your subconscious, a “one small millisecond peep” sound can include a series and string of words, and your mind picks it up without really knowing it.
I have seen a documentary where they placed a flower next to a speaker. When they played classical music, it flourished, but when they played “Heavy Metal” it died. We need to get into the beat of God’s Heart, and that is a sound that pleases Him, true Worship that He is so due to.
People express either the good, bad, and ugly in music; may you, at all times, express a sound that touches the Father’s Heart.
That which is the greater concern in music is not just the sound produced but the “words.” So many songs are flagged “explicit” for a reason, you know. It means: “Don’t listen to it“, switch it off.
What makes you tick? Are you into music that produces an explicit sound? Or are you into a sound that pleases The Father indeed?
I close this article by imploring you to get into the rhythm and a sound that pleases God. We are in this world and not part of it. There is just so much gospel music out there; there is no need to dabble in any worldly music. Give God the honor and praise He so deserves. We will not submit to the suggestion of the hour; we submit to God and resist the devil, and the Word says that he, “the devil will flee from us”.
Our greatest weapon against Satan and his cohorts is Praise and Worship; we can’t sit on the fence with music. You either endorse a Godly sound or a worldly sound; you can’t have both, or even think to yourself that you must live a balanced life by indulging in a worldly sound as well as a Godly sound, it does not work like that, a fountain can not produce both bitter and sweet water, it is either of these, sweet or bitter.
We know that God is omnipresent, everywhere at the same time, but it is of note to go to Church, because God is also in us, and in collective worship is where God shows up and shows Himself STRONG.
